History of Erkner

<div>Herakut is a German artist-duo, consisting of Jasmin Siddiqui and Falk Lehmann. They have been active internationally since 2004 and create, among other things, murals in public spaces.<br>This mural in Patrick-Henry-Village (PHV), Heidelberg, was part of Metropolink´s first intervention on the former US-Military-Base.&nbsp;<br>The northern part of PHV territory consists mainly of former villas/mansions. The mansions have been empty since 2013. The designed facade is the back wall of the former thermal power plant of the US district.<br><br></div>

<div>Ocean folklore has always been abundant in coastal communities, with none more prevalent than the mermaid. It is thought that one possible mermaid origin could be the Dugong from China, which as of September 2022 was declared extinct. Some mermaids are portrayed as sirens and tempests of the deep blue, but what if they were tirelessly untangling corals of ghost nets left by deep sea trawlers?</div><div><br>If our oceans are to stand a chance of surviving the next chapter of human life, creating folkloric tales for future generations, we must act as ambassadors for change. British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) are doing exactly that. Every year, BDMLR trains over 1000 volunteer Marine Mammal Medics, and has 20 whale rescue pontoons located at strategic points throughout the UK, waiting to help stranded whales and dolphins. Medics are trained to provide them with the basic knowledge, skills and expertise to enable volunteer teams to respond to a callout and act on behalf of that animal’s best welfare interests.</div><div><br>Mermaids might be considered fictional characters, but the challenges of cleaning up our oceans and protecting what life is left is a profound reality, and an increasingly pressing issue. <pre>"Everything big starts with a small one" Tönnessenstraße 5, Goch as part of the "Goch history meets StreetArt" festival by Hera from Berlin by Herakut aka Jasmin Siddiqui.</pre><div><br></div><pre>This work is a real eye-catcher, which was supposed to be created elsewhere, namely at the museum, but I think this place was perfectly chosen because more visitors notice it!

The festival also started small, has really become a hip event in the scene this year!
The template for the face comes from a photo that Jasmin took of a little 3-year-old Gocher girl that was a bit cheeky. The eyes are awesome!

The building blocks stand for creativity, if we help our children to develop it, then they will find new ways and they will become open-minded people who are aware of their environment!

But I also discover the city skyline if you look closely! z. B. the stone gate
She said that she was not in Goch for the last time, I interpret that as she liked it here!
But also see it as a warning that if we don't take care of our children, then we get a society of egomaniac with mental defects!</pre><div><br></div>

<div><strong>Style: </strong>Hera combines her skills as a graffiti artist, illustrator, poet and storyteller to create fluid figures with simultaneously elegant and chaotic line and brushstrokes. Her work is often a statement on the human condition and experiences of childhood. In 2004, Hera joined forces with Akut and began creating collaborative work under the name of Herakut.<br>"<strong>The little wizard loves his neighborhood. He's happy to help out when he's needed. But when it comes to settling disputes the compassion &amp; patience are more useful than magic</strong>" says Hera<br><br></div><div><strong>Why:</strong> The second women in the line-up of the If Walls Could Speak festival with very strong artistic and sensual storytelling through her paintings.
