De gemeente Wevelgem wou het straatbeeld in de schoolomgeving aantrekkelijker en speelser maken, op maat van de kinderen. In samenwerking met All About Things en de buurtbewoners zochten ze daarom samen naar een passend kunstproject.

Ze contacteerden Nils Westergard, een jonge getalenteerde kunstenaar, street artist en filmmaker die woont en werkt in Richmond, Virginia.

Zijn murals zijn vaak groot van formaat, hebben een schilderachtig karakter en zijn meestal zwart- wit. Op die manier creëert hij een intieme en aangename sfeer in zijn werk. Zijn mural 'Julie met de rozen' valt op, maar past tegelijkertijd ook feilloos in de omgeving.

The municipality of Wevelgem wanted to make the streetscape in the school environment more attractive and playful, tailored to children. In collaboration with All About Things and local residents, they therefore sought a suitable art project.

They contacted Nils Westergard, a talented young artist, street artist and filmmaker who lives and works in Richmond, Virginia.

His murals are often large in size, have a picturesque character and are usually black and white. In this way, he creates an intimate and pleasant atmosphere in his work. His mural “Julie with the roses” stands out, but at the same time fits perfectly into its surroundings.
