Eelco van den Berg is a Dutch artist known for his geometric, colorful, animal-inspired murals. He embraces a distinct color palette and a unique figurative drawing style.

This artwork was commissioned by Mantelfoon, a place founded to help informal caregivers access more support in Rotterdam. The artist took up a wall in Gouvernestraat and created a horizontal design in bright colors, mainly purple, yellow, blue, and brown. The artist intended to illustrate the struggle of caregivers, especially through the gray character in the middle, which conveys the effort and, to some extent, the loneliness of someone who dedicates their life to others.

Eelco van den Berg is een Nederlandse kunstenaar die bekend staat om zijn geometrische, kleurrijke, op dieren geïnspireerde muurschilderingen. Hij hanteert een uitgesproken kleurenpalet en een unieke figuratieve tekenstijl.

Dit kunstwerk is in opdracht gemaakt voor Mantelfoon, een initiatief in Rotterdam dat informele mantelzorgers helpt toegang te krijgen tot meer ondersteuning. De kunstenaar nam een muur in de Gouvernestraat in gebruik en creëerde een horizontaal ontwerp in heldere kleuren, voornamelijk paars, geel, blauw en bruin. De kunstenaar wilde de worsteling van mantelzorgers illustreren, met name door de grijze figuur in het midden, die de inspanning en, tot op zekere hoogte, de eenzaamheid weergeeft van iemand die zijn of haar leven aan anderen wijdt.
