Paula Plim est une artiste visuelle, illustratrice et muraliste brésilienne.

Son travail se distingue par la création d'un univers vibrant, peuplé de créatures colorées et d'une végétation luxuriante, où se mêlent influences de l'art populaire et formes organiques inspirées de la nature.

Hommage à Tarsila do Amaral (1886 1973) qui a été l'une des principales artistes du modernisme brésilien.

Elle a participé au mouvement visant à créer un art avec une identité brésilienne, mélangeant les influences européennes avec des éléments de la culture nationale, tels que les paysages, les couleurs tropicales et les themes populaires.

L'une de ses œuvres les plus célèbres est Abaporu (1928), qui a inspiré le mouvement de l'anthropophagie culturelle, où l'idée était de "dévorer" symboliquement la culture étrangere (principalement européenne) et de la transformer en quelque chose de proprement brésilien.

Dans cette peinture, Plim à essayé de faire un "pot-pourri" de plusieurs de ses œuvres, mêlé à son propre langage.

Elle a inclus le célèbre autoportrait avec la robe rouge, créée par un styliste français et que Tarsila portait lors d'occasions spéciales.

La Tour Eiffel, issue de la peinture "Carnaval em Madureira", y figure également, abordant le dialogue visuel entre le Brésil populaire et les symboles de la modernité européenne.

Ainsi, Plim tisse des références liées à Tarsila et à Paris, tout en apportant avec elle tout son bagage culturel brésilien.

She participated in the movement to create an art with a Brazilian identity, mixing European influences with elements of national culture, such as landscapes, tropical colors and popular themes.

One of his most famous works is Abaporu (1928), which inspired the movement of cultural anthropophagy, where the idea was to symbolically "devour" the foreign culture (mainly European) and transform it into something properly Brazilian.

In this painting, Plim tried to make a "potpourri" of several of his works, mixed with his own language.

She included the famous self-portrait with the red dress, created by a French stylist and that Tarsila wore on special occasions.

The Eiffel Tower, from the painting "Carnival in Madureira", also appears there, addressing the visual dialogue between popular Brazil and the symbols of European modernity.
