"David Selor is a painter whose work lies at the crossroads of street art, contemporary art and narrative illustration. Since the early 2010s, he has developed a practice deeply rooted in public space, creating works that interact with their surroundings and engage directly with passers-by.

Based in Bordeaux, he became particularly known for his murals and urban collages, which have contributed to shaping the city’s visual art scene. His work can be found both in the streets and in exhibitions and institutional projects, exploring themes such as visibility, anonymity, identity, transmission and collective storytelling.

At the heart of his artistic universe is Le Mimil, a humanoid character that has become the distinctive signature of his work. Gentle and serene in appearance, Le Mimil draws inspiration from the autism spectrum, approached not as a clinical subject, but as another way of perceiving the world, emotions and social relationships.

Through this character, David Selor addresses sensitive subjects related to society, memory, identity and human vulnerability with simplicity, humour and kindness. Le Mimil acts as a bridge between the artist and the public, allowing viewers to see themselves in the work, reflect on it, or simply connect with it on an emotional level.

His murals and short texts, often written in the first person, encourage identification and personal interpretation rather than imposing a specific message. This direct and accessible approach naturally lends itself to public space, where his work can reach and resonate with a wide range of audiences.

David Selor has created works in numerous cities across France and abroad, in both spontaneous and legal contexts, collaborating with local authorities, associations, cultural institutions and residents. He places particular importance on respecting each site, integrating his work into its architectural environment and preserving the human dimension of every project.

Today, he continues to explore the dialogue between art and territory, creating works that can become part of a place while embracing the ephemeral nature of urban art. Through his practice, David Selor seeks to make art visible, sensitive and accessible, while preserving a strong sense of artistic freedom and an individual perspective on the world."
