Part of Antelope Valley project. Previously known as POW!WOW! Antelope Valley, Antelope Valley Walls has returned for its fourth installment September 12-17 as international and local talent adorn the community with vibrant murals throughout the Antelope Valley. These new murals will accompany previous murals painted in 2016, 2018, and 2020, adding 18 new murals for the Antelope Valley community. Artists will paint throughout the week leading up to the festival.
The artist shares on socials: " I did this wall with total freedom crossing my fingers to get right with the idea I had of this country, with what it made me feel without ever having been, when I arrived I was scared with culture shock, and how different absolutely EVERYTHING is, especially street painting in a place like Lancaster, you never know what you might find. But I adapted like everything else, and I understood that removing all those layers of learning we are all the same. We move by the simple, and love moves us. This wall has deeply moved the people of Lancaster because of its message and sentiment: two strong, independent women from two different cultures: Mexico and America, constantly fighting in the same place. The two women decide to go together to do something as simple as look for the famous poppies that cover the mountains in March, with their horses and their friendship. Sometimes just being human is a reason to join. "
