"GIOCHI DI MEMORIA"

A Caraffa del Bianco, piccolo borgo Aspromontano, un'antica e radicata tradizione di tessitura al telaio è arrivata fino ai giorni nostri con l'ultima maestra di telaio Grazia Volonà, che fu a sua volta allieva di Rosa Tedesco, un'altra grande maestra di quest'arte.

Ispirato da questo tema, il murale rappresenta un bambino che gioca con alcuni strumenti del telaio antico, circondato dalle tradizionali "pezzare"(coperte e tappeti tessuti al telaio), perché è proprio attraverso il gioco che i bambini esplorano, conoscono il mondo, costruiscono ricordi, che di conseguenza formeranno la loro identità personale e culturale. 'Giochi di memoria" appunto, per sottolineare l'importanza di conoscere, tramandare e soprattutto capire la propria cultura e le proprie radici.

"Non puoi andare da nessuna parte se non sai da dove vieni"

Nelle ultime foto potete vedere la maestra Rosa Tedesco mentre prepara il telaio aiutata dalle dalle sorelle Grazia e Natalina Volonà, le "pezzare" e alcuni strumenti raffigurati nel murale.

"MEMORY GAMES"

In Caraffa del Bianco, a small village in the Aspromonte mountains, an ancient and deeply rooted tradition of loom weaving has survived to this day with the last master loom weaver, Grazia Volonà, who in turn was a student of Rosa Tedesco, another great master of this art.

Inspired by this theme, the mural depicts a child playing with some of the tools of the ancient loom, surrounded by traditional "pezzare" (loom-woven blankets and rugs), because it is precisely through play that children explore, learn about the world, and build memories, which ultimately shape their personal and cultural identity. "Memory games," to emphasize the importance of knowing, passing on, and above all understanding one's culture and roots.

"You can't go anywhere if you don't know where you come from."

In the last photos, you can see teacher Rosa Tedesco preparing the loom with the help of her sisters Grazia and Natalina Volonà, the "pezzare" (weaving machines), and some of the tools depicted in the mural.
