The Glass City River Wall

Description

The largest mural in the U.S. is in Toledo, OH, along the Maumee River. The mural covers 28 silos for a total measurement of approximately 170,000 square feet.

The design was created to highlight the importance of agriculture and culture in the region. The models used for three portraits are from different Native American tribes- the Dakota Tribe, the Shawnee Tribe, and the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma.

The best way to view this mural is on a boat, which I did not do. My first image is from across the river, the second is from the interstate and the third is from the street side of the ADM Grain Factory that the mural is painted on. (I used the ADM address for the location, but the property is gated and has 'no access' notices posted so you cannot see the full mural from their location)

I love art and I love to travel. When I go to a new place my dog, Sparky, we go for lots of walks, exploring whatever city we are in. I love to take that time to hunt for street art. It's makes it fun for both of us (unless he's actually thinking I'm really annoying for stopping so much!!)
