Michael John is a well known Brixton figure who has, among other things, looked after the Pope’s Road toilets, which are opposite the mural, for many years. The mural was commissioned as part of the October 2017 Brixton Design Trail week. The artist, Dreph, specialises in tributes to unsung heroes.
