'An oasis in Torremolinos' is the title of the new mural that shines from today in the El Calvario neighborhood, a large-format work carried out by the graphic artist Ana Cortés 'Bosska' that illustrates the freedom and diversity represented by the municipality at a national level European.

The painting adds to the one recently carried out by the cartoonist Idígoras at the San Miguel Health Center in homage to the toilets and the one that the artist NESUI is finishing on the facade of the Hotel Princesa Solar on Carlota Alessandri avenue, urban art samples and street "that are part of the route promoted by the City Council as a new tourist and cultural attraction" of the city, has pointed out the Councilor for Culture, David Tejeiro.

A route that leaves the center and the most touristic areas to get closer to the neighborhoods and the people of Torremolinos. “For us it is very important that art leaves the most commercial area and reaches the popular areas, where the workers and our families live. It was a commitment that we had acquired when we entered the government and we are making it a reality not only with these street art murals, but with other activities such as music or theatre", highlighted the mayor.

With more than 14 meters high and 4 meters wide, the spray painting by Ana Cortés is inspired "by the ability that Torremolinos has to mix the traditional and the modern, a city in which everything has a place and diversity is respected ”, stated the illustrator who is characterized by her color palette full of bright tones and contrasts, her own style that is close to the 'art nouveau' of the early 20th century.

Bosska has highlighted the initiative launched by the City Council through a finalist subsidy from the Ministry of Tourism of the Junta de Andalucía for tourist municipalities to promote cultural projects. Betting on street art "is a great initiative, it makes cities attractive and in the end full of life and recovers spaces that are what people value," she pointed out.

‘Un oasis en Torremolinos’ es el título del nuevo mural que luce desde hoy en el barrio de El Calvario, una obra de gran formato realizada por la artista gráfica Ana Cortés ‘Bosska’ que ilustra la libertad y la diversidad representa el municipio a nivel Europeo.

La pintura se suma a la realizada recientemente por el humorista gráfico Idígoras en el Centro de Salud San Miguel en homenaje a los sanitarios y la que está finalizando el artista NESUI en la fachada del Hotel Princesa Solar en la avenida Carlota Alessandri, muestras de arte urbano y callejero “que forman parte de la ruta promovida desde el Ayuntamiento como nuevo atractivo turístico y cultural” de la ciudad, ha señalado el concejal de Cultura, David Tejeiro.

Una ruta que sale del centro y de las zonas más turísticas para acercarse a los barrios y a la gente de Torremolinos. “Para nosotros es muy importante que el arte salga de la zona más comercial y llegue a las zonas populares, donde vivimos los trabajadores y nuestras familias. Era un compromiso que habíamos adquirido cuando entramos en el gobierno y lo estamos haciendo realidad no solo con estos murales de arte callejero, sino con otras actividades como la música o el teatro”, ha resaltado el edil.

Con más de 14 metros de alto y 4 de ancho, la pintura realizada en spray por Ana Cortés está inspirada “en esa capacidad que tiene Torremolinos de mezclar lo tradicional y lo moderno, una ciudad en la que todo tiene cabida y se respeta la diversidad”, ha manifestado la ilustradora que se caracteriza por su paleta de color llena de tonos vivos y contrastes, un estilo propio que se acerca al 'art nouveau’ de principios del siglo XX.

Bosska ha resaltado la iniciativa puesta en marcha por el Ayuntamiento a través de una subvención finalista de la Consejería de Turismo de la Junta de Andalucía destinada a municipios turísticos para el fomento de proyectos culturales. Apostar por el arte callejero “es una gran iniciativa, hace atractivas a las ciudades y al final llena de vida y recupera espacios que es lo que valora la gente”, ha señalado.
