Hablando con Mari Luz (dueña de la casa) aprendí algunas cosas importantes sobre las mujeres en el ámbito rural. Ella me explicaba que el campo las ha hecho auténticas y resilientes. La mujer de mi obra es real y fuerte, y en homenaje a este pueblecito de León lleva una una espiga de trigo en la mano que representa la agricultura de secano propia del entorno.

Talking to Mari Luz (the owner of the house) I learned some important things about women in rural areas. She explained to me that the countryside has made them authentic and resilient. The woman in my work is real and strong, and in homage to this little town in León she is carrying an ear of wheat in her hand that represents the dryland agriculture typical of the area.
