The facade of the corner house at Kiefernstraße 1 is part of a monumental mural project titled "Schöner Wohnen auf der Kiefernstraße" (Better Living on Kiefernstraße). This massive, colorful collaborative artwork spans the entire block from numbers 1 to 5. Covering more than 800 square meters, it ranks among the largest murals in Germany. The mega-project was created in 2004 under the creative direction of Düsseldorf muralist Klaus Klinger and the organization Farbfieber e.V..
Number 1 marks the dramatic entrance to the street and showcases a jungle-like, surreal blend of artistic styles: Right on the corner of the building, a gigantic, brightly colored carnivorous plant catches the eye and on the lower section of the facade, a fantasy creature known as a Marsupilami is depicted.
