This colorful and dynamic mural at 14 Cieszyńska Street is a tribute to the contemporary creations of the Animated Film Studio (Studio Filmów Rysunkowych). It features characters from the studio’s latest animations for children: Lilia Wanilia and Syriusz Pieprz from “Warzywne Biuro Śledcze” (“The Vegetable Investigation Bureau”), the ladybug Onka and the snail Mak from “Baczne Oczka” (“Watchful Eyes”) (a series designed for children with visual impairments), as well as Pretzel the cat from the iconic series “Kocia Szajka” (“The Cat Gang”) by Agata Romaniuk. The author of this lively composition is Yevheniia Rudiuk, a graphic artist at the Animated Film Studio, who ensured that the mural would be full of energy. As she explained: “I wanted the image of our characters not to be static, but to feel as if, just like in the animations, a lot is happening here. That’s why Lilia Wanilia is jumping toward the cat, Pieprz is chasing her along an unfurling film reel, and Mak the snail is chatting with Onka the ladybug.”

The transfer of the design onto the wall was carried out by Bielsko-based artist Turbos, a street artist whose numerous significant works have become an integral part of the cityscape.

The cartoons’ mural is meant not only to showcase the achievements of the Animated Film Studio and highlight its current projects, but also to invite residents and visitors into this part of the city, closely connected with the SFR headquarters and the OKO Center for Fairy Tales and Animation.
