The mural is inspired by social issues such as the fight against gender violence and femicides and support for the LGTBIQ community.

The Faculty of Nursing of the Bahía de Algeciras Campus of the University of Cádiz, in its commitment to making diversity, inclusion and tolerance visible, and being a mobilizing agent for social issues such as the fight against gender violence and femicides and support for the LGTBIQ+ collective, a graffiti inspired by both themes made by the artist Juan Luís Vargas Caro already appears this morning. The vice-rector for Students and Employment, Manuel Sánchez Ortiz de Landaluce, and the dean of the Faculty of Nursing of Algeciras, María del Carmen Paublete, attended the presentation ceremony, which took place this morning.

The mural has been made thanks to the collaboration of the Vice-Rectorates for Students and Employment and the Algeciras Bay Campus of the UCA on one of the main façades of the Faculty. This intervention had to contextualize previously installed furniture; a red bench, which is a global symbol of the fight against gender violence and femicides, and another with the rainbow flag, in support of the LGTBIQ+ collective.

The graphic style used by the artist dates back to the seventies. Its creator, Wedha, is inspired by Cubist Art and Pop Art, prioritizing simple linear shapes and strong colors. It is with the leap to the digital world that what is known as Wedha Pop Portrait (WPAP) begins to become popular, used by many artists on the most varied media.

La Facultad de Enfermería del Campus Bahía de Algeciras de la Universidad de Cádiz, en su apuesta por visibilizar la diversidad, la inclusión y la tolerancia, y ser un agente movilizador de asuntos sociales como de la lucha contra la violencia de género y los femicidios y el apoyo al colectivo LGTBIQ+, ya luce desde esta mañana un grafitti inspirado en ambas temáticas realizado por el artista Juan Luís Vargas Caro. Al acto de presentación del mismo, que ha tenido lugar esta mañana, han acudido el vicerrector de Estudiantes y Empleo, Manuel Sánchez Ortiz de Landaluce, y la decana de la Facultad de Enfermería de Algeciras, María del Carmen Paublete.

El mural se ha realizado gracias a la colaboración de los Vicerrectorados de Estudiantes y Empleo y del Campus de la Bahía de Algeciras de la UCA en una de las fachadas principales de la Facultad. Dicha intervención debía de contextualizar un mobiliario previamente instalado; un banco rojo, que es símbolo mundial de la lucha contra la violencia de género y los femicidios, y otro con la bandera arcoiris, en apoyo al colectivo LGTBIQ+.

El estilo gráfico utilizado por el artista data de los años setenta. Su creador, Wedha, se inspira en el Arte Cubista y el Arte Pop, priorizando las formas lineales simples y los colores fuertes. Es con el salto al mundo digital cuando empieza a popularizarse lo que se conoce como Retrato Pop de Wedha (WPAP), utilizado por muchos artistas sobre los más variados soportes.
