Resilience Rooms: A Tribute To Rebirth

Description

The mural Resilience Rooms: A Tribute To Rebirth stretches across a long exterior wall in downtown Duncan on Vancouver Island. Its colourful composition combines geometric abstraction with landscape imagery and a female portrait.

The title places resilience and rebirth at the heart of the work. The combination of nature, portraiture and vivid colour can be interpreted as a visual exploration of renewal and vitality.

The information sign at the site identifies the Downtown Duncan Business Improvement Area Society as the project owner. The mural was created in September 2023. The artist is Ruth Spohn, who is also active in Duncan's local art scene.
