This mural displays the Passage of Time in the Dumbalk District from first European settlement in 1878 to 2000. The 'tree house' in the foreground depicts a pioneer's home in early settlement days. The central section shows the third butter factory built at Dumbalk in 1930 producing 'Sunny South' butter and was later extended to manufacture cheese, casein and milk powder. Production ceased in 1969 and the factory was demolished in 1980. Our Heritage Park diagonally opposite is now situated on that site. The background shows a dairy farm in the year 2000.
