Some words from the artist Antik about this mural:
The graffiti artist Kermit and I (Antik) did this mural probably in 2010.
The house owner asked us to paint these walls. He liked our previous work that he accidentally saw as we were painting. He said you are free to paint what ever you like.
In the end, I had an idea, to paint the Beatles on this place, like I know the Beatles sadly never been in my hometown Bremen. So, we had the chance to painting them, that they were posthumously in Bremen.
As we were painting them people took notice of it, and as I wrote the song title "Strawberry Fields for Ever" between the spaces, a girl was singing this song as she was walking by.
I also remeber two older ladies were asking us which musician I was actually painting. I said the Rolling Stones, then they said: "Come on, we can see that they're the Beatles!".
I told them the current story, that the Beatles never had been in Bremen, then they told me that Elvis Presley was at the cinema around the corner. I asked them, now you are joking, Right? They said no, it was in the newspaper, the penny market nowadays, was back then a cinema.
So I thought the world is small and unreal the thought that Elvis was walking here in the streets of Bremen.
So, now and then the Beatles are there too.
