There used to be a lilac colored wall here, where Dodici would walk past on his way to his workshop. The color of the wall didn't feel right to him in this environment, and he started asking the people living in the street how they would feel if he made a mural here. They loved the idea and together they got to work to make this piece possible. The project received grants from the municipality and the Cultuur Concreet foundation.
The story of the work is twofold. On the one hand it tells the history of the area of Kralingen, where in the past there used to be a factory that produced gas. The history and the factory are represented in the black and white part of the mural. Then there is also the father and the son, in the colored part representing the future. It is a never-ending cycle of parenthood, to which Dodici can relate as a father of a one and half year old boy.
