Vrouwen dragen de wereld - Women carry the world
Description
Deze muurschildering is ontworpen door kunstenaar Max Kisman en in opdracht van de bewoners van de Draaiweg en de gemeente Utrecht aangebracht door het Utrechtse kunstenaarscollectief De Strakke Hand.
Max Kisman omschrijft het kunstwerk als “een ode aan sterke vrouwen die de hele wereld op hun schouders dragen”.

This mural was designed by artist Max Kisman and painted by the art collective De Strakke Hand, commissioned by the residents of Draaiweg and the Municipality of Utrecht.
Max Kisman describes the artwork as “a tribute to strong women who carry the entire world on their shoulders.”

My passion for murals began in 2019. I read a newspaper article about Jan is de Man, who had created a mural in Utrecht. It depicted a bookcase (on Mimosastraat). Local residents had been asked what their favorite book was and whether he could include it on the bookshelf.
After my retirement, I started organizing cycling tours past twenty beautiful, large murals in Utrecht, and more recently also in Nieuwegein. It’s great fun to do!
