Due figure senza volto, raffigurate una di fronte all’altra, due persone che portano la gonna, un’icona per eccellenza femminile ma che non per forza dev’essere associata ad un sesso prestabilito.
Nella sua semplicità, nel suo voler essere un’opera iconica, ha dietro di se un grande valore simbolico: mentre la realizzavo tutti mi chiedevano perché non ci fossero le teste, alcuni bambini si domandavano se fossero degli uomini o delle donne, magari un uomo ed una donna, forse due fratelli, due amiche, una madre ed una figlia. Queste domande sono state un segno incisivo del mio messaggio, mi hanno fatto capire realmente che anche se la gente pensava di non capire il perché di quelle scelte, in realtà avevano già capito tutto: una non identificazione precisa è la giusta metafora del valore della nostra libertà.

In its simplicity, in its desire to be an iconic work, it has great symbolic value behind it: while I was making it everyone asked me why there were no heads, some children wondered if they were men or women, maybe a man and a woman, perhaps two brothers, two friends, a mother and a daughter. These questions were an incisive sign of my message, they really made me understand that even if people thought they didn't understand the reason for those choices, in reality they had already understood everything: a precise non-identification is the right metaphor for the value of our freedom.
