Street Art Cities

Lonneke van Zutphen is one of the initiators of "Trotse Muren" ( Dutch for Proud Walls). One of the reasons she started Trotse Muren is that she wanted to see more art on walls in the streets of Zwolle. With Trotse Muren, she offers all kinds of artists a chance to show their work in Zwolle. The artist herself has been creating murals throughout the country for more than 15 years now.
Studio Steengoed is a separate company she founded in 2021. The paintings she makes under the name Studio Steengoed all have a very special quality: the paintings purify the air! One square metre of wall painting with this paint purifies as much air as a fully grown tree.
Lonneke has painted two murals at the Stadkamer: a vase of flowers and a bird. The paint is specifically developed to attract air pollutants such as nitrogen. It then converts them into harmless nitrates. Every mural by Studio Steengoed thus becomes an air-purifying mural that helps to protect people from harmful gases. 

Lonneke studied applied spatial design and was trained to be a visual arts teacher and she lives in Zwolle.
