A Ride Through Race Course Road

Community art project which aims to evoke a sense of belonging and nostalgia by showcasing the shared history and cultural diversity of Race Course Road, Little India. Jointed created by the artist, with the help of teachers and students from Raffles Institution and migrant workers staying and working in the area, the completed artwork serves as a platform for everyone in Singapore, residents and tourists, to enjoy photo opportunities while they learn about the heritage of the place through these engaging visuals.

The artwork depicts a racing horse and jockey galloping through a small stall with fruit and flower bouquets. While races mainly attracted a largely European audience, a sizeable Indian community lived in the area.
