A pleasure as always to paint in the Villa de Vicar, thanks to the Vícar Vive Vícar City Council and the San Benito Neighborhood Association for the treatment received.
In Greek mythology, Silenus was the adoptive father, tutor, and loyal companion of Dionysus, the god of wine, while he was described as the oldest, wisest, and most drunken of his followers. He was a satyr, and a minor god of drunkenness; he is usually considered the son of Hermes, as is the case with most satyrs, but in other traditions he is made the son of Pan by a nymph, or Pan by Gaia. As with Dionysus, he placed his birthplace in Nisa (Asia). Silenus is known for his excesses with alcohol, because his love for wine was his passion, so he used to be drunk and had to be supported by other satyrs or carried on a donkey; it was said that when he was drunk Silenus possessed special wisdom and the gift of prophecy.

Un placer como siempre pintar en la Villa de Vicar, gracias al Ayuntamiento de Vícar  Vive Vícar y a la Asociación de Vecinos San Benito por el trato recibido.

En la mitología griega, Sileno era el padre adoptivo, preceptor y leal compañero de Dioniso, el dios del vino, al tiempo que era descrito como el más viejo, sabio y borracho de sus seguidores. Era un sátiro, y un dios menor de la embriaguez;  suele considerarse hijo de Hermes, como sucede con la mayoría de los sátiros, pero en otras tradiciones se le hace hijo de Pan con una ninfa, o de Pan con Gea. Como con Dioniso, se situaba su lugar de nacimiento en Nisa (Asia). Sileno es conocido por sus excesos con el alcohol, pues su amor por el vino era su pasión, por lo que solía estar borracho y tenía que ser sostenido por otros sátiros o llevado en burro; se decía que cuando estaba ebrio Sileno poseía una sabiduría especial y el don de la profecía.
