Today we bring a mural of the Last Supper, whose author is Curro Leyton. The painting is embodied on the exterior wall located to the south of the San José Church, on Madrid street (Estepona). The work was discovered while it was being carried out. We went 48 hours later to meet the author, but the realization was finished.
The artist has recreated -with a different perspective- the incomparable work of Leonardo da Vinci, on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of his death, as evidenced by a commemorative plaque. The original creation that he made was inspired by the Gospel of John, in its chapter 13, verses from 21 to 30, since Mark, 14, Luke, 22 and Matthew, 26, differ in their narratives.
The scene depicted is based on the exact moment when Jesus announces: "Truly, truly, I tell you, one of you will betray me" 22 The disciples looked at each other, not knowing who he was talking about. 23 One of his disciples, the one Jesus loved, was at table next to Jesus. 24 Simon Peter makes a sign to him and says, "Ask him who he is talking about." "The Last Supper" by Leonardo da Vinci, is one of the most emblematic works in the history of art, created between the years 1495-49, it is very deteriorated by conserving only 20% of the original painting. We currently know that a copy was made on it located in the Tongerlo abbey (Belgium), an hour from Antwerp, presenting an extraordinary conservation; In addition, it is believed that it was made in 1507 by a student of Leonardo, it helps us to understand the original conception.

Hoy traemos un mural de la Última Cena, cuyo autor es Curro Leyton. La pintura está plasmada sobre la pared exterior situada al sur de la Iglesia San José, en calle Madrid (Estepona). El trabajo fue descubierto mientras se realizaba. Acudimos 48 horas más tarde para conocer al autor, pero la realización estaba terminada.

El artista ha recreado -con una perspectiva distinta-, la inigualable obra de Leonardo da Vinci, con motivo del 500 aniversario de su muerte, así lo atestigua una placa conmemorativa. La creación original que hizo, estuvo inspirada en el evangelio de Juan, en su capítulo 13, versículos del 21 a 30, ya que Marcos,14, Lucas, 22 y Mateo, 26, en sus narraciones se diferencian.

La escena representada, está basada en el justo momento en que Jesús anuncia: «En verdad, en verdad os digo que uno de vosotros me entregará» 22 Los discípulos se miraban unos a otros, sin saber de quién hablaba. 23 Uno de sus discípulos, el que Jesús amaba, estaba a la mesa al lado de Jesús. 24 Simón Pedro le hace una seña y le dice: «Pregúntale de quién está hablando». «La última cena» de Leonardo da Vinci, es una de las obras más emblemáticas de la historia del arte, creada entre los años 1495-49, se encuentra muy deteriorada al conservar solo un 20 % de la pintura original. Actualmente conocemos que sobre la misma se realizó una copia ubicada en la abadía de Tongerlo (Bélgica), a una hora de Amberes, al presentar una extraordinaria conservación; además, se cree que fue realizada en 1507 por un alumno de Leonardo, nos ayuda a comprender la concepción original.
