La Chimère

Lucien Gilson, who works under the artist's name Noir, is a young Belgian visual artist and muralist from Liège. Inspired by advertising, baroque art, tattooing and pop art, Noir gracefully revisits his pictorial obsessions and his very personal vision of our ‘full sentimental’ society of over-consumption.

His pseudonym Noir was inspired by the fact that he uses no pigment other than black, not even grey or white. Only black in all its nuances, whether acrylic paint, charcoal, black stone pencil or spray.

This mural in the Bovery Park was made for the Ephemeres festival in 2016.
The Chimera is a creature from Greek mythology. It is a monstrous creature composed of parts of several beasts, originating from the region of Lycia in Anatolia.
