The artwork forms part of When Walls Speak Welcome, a public art project developed by Translink in partnership with the Belfast-based arts organisation Daisychain around the new Belfast Grand Central Station. Officially launched in 2026, the programme combines the work of professional street artists with ideas contributed by pupils from seven local schools. Through workshops, the young participants developed drawings, texts and visual concepts that provided the starting point for the murals.
The project uses public art to make Belfast's identity visible and create a welcoming arrival experience for travellers and visitors. The murals explore different ideas of community, belonging and connection.
