Description

Created for Wal Fest 2026

A mural that rises from the streets of Le Raizet carries more than color — it carries the pulse of Guadeloupe. Painted during Walfest, the work is rooted in a neighborhood defined by contrast: the vivid Caribbean energy that fills the air and the social realities that shape daily life. In this environment, the wall stopped being a surface and became part of the choreography of the street — woven into movement, traffic, conversations, and the steady flow of people passing by.

From the ground upward, the piece grows like an island landscape unfolding in slow motion. Beige sand anchors the base, turquoise water lifts the eye, and yellow sun radiates warmth across the composition. The letterforms begin clearly, then gradually dissolve into abstraction, mirroring the way the Caribbean horizon blurs sea, sky, and heat into a single shimmering field.

Open spaces interrupt the denser sections, offering visual breaths — pauses that echo the island’s rhythm, where intensity and calm coexist. These quieter pockets reflect the moments of stillness found between waves, between conversations, between the fast and slow tempos of life in Le Raizet.

What emerged is a mural shaped as much by its surroundings as by the artist’s hand: a work that doesn’t dominate the neighborhood but listens to it, absorbs it, and becomes another layer in its ongoing story.
