Joos van Barneveld, better known as DOES, was born in Veghel, The Netherlands, in 1982. He trained and played as a professional player for soccer club Fortuna Sittard from the age of 9. In 2010 a knee injury forced him to give up his career as a soccer player and he switched focus to becoming a full-time artist.
