Roadside mosaic designed by Grace Holliday @gracegholliday of a summer cottage garden undertaken by residents of Frant Road as part of a Street Action Project by Thornton Heath Community Action Team (THCAT) @thornton_heath_c_a_t The wall space on Frant Road was provided by local business Roadside Windscreen Service. Residents were asked which plants and creatures, such as a well known cat, they wanted to include. The aim was to add colourful flowers to the street to deter fly tipping, giving it a more cared-for look and encouraging more planting. Many locals donated their crockery and tiles (as did local businesses) and got to know each other whilst working together to create the mosaic. Passers-by stopped constantly to thank the volunteers and praised the mosaic funded by a grant to THCAT from The People's Trust, 2019. Photographer: Tilly Pollard @heartofthefirefly
