Madonnari Mural

Madonnari Mural - Most recent mural in Baltimore in the historic neighborhood of Little Italy. This mural is about the Art of Madonnari and the different aspects of Motherhood. Madonnari are artists that travel creating images on pavements using chalk or soft pastels. The majority of their images are of the Virgen Mary or Madonna for that reason they are called Madonnari. Throughout this mural are images of people that have been or are extremely important to Madonnari. The theme of the mural depicts various stages of the life of a mother from childbirth to the loss of a child. Many of the images or vignettes are recreations of images that created in Italy to achieve the title of Maestro Madonnaro at the Festival of Madonnari in Grazie di Curtatone
