The idea behind this piece draws on the history of Fountain Street in Belfast, this street used to have 2 fountains that provided public water for a lot of people in the area.
Water deities / goddesses are noted in folklore all over the world; rivers and bodies of water are seen as spirits or goddesses in their own right.
My idea is that these are the twin spirits of the fountains blessing the people of Belfast with water 💦
