Wedderburn is an interesting old gold rush era town that has seen some big population shifts in its history...think it was around 5k in its heyday & approx 600 people until a mini resurgence due to covid refugees from the city..
Its nearly back up to 1K now.
The local community centre organised a series of murals to revitalise the local area and draw in tourists, originally a local silo was being considered but i think the consensus was that more high profile sites in the centre of town would be of more benefit to the town. the church was one component of the overall project that turned out to be quite popular due to its unique nature. Still a functioning church, we were painting outside as Easter services were underway :)
