This artwork pays tribute to the rich artisanal and industrial history of the Camperdown area and, in particular the area’s connection to pottery and brick making. In the past, Camperdown was known to house many artisans including potters, candlemakers and brickmakers. The work contains abstract references to pottery, interpretations of several buildings (taken from original drawings of Fowlers Pottery works), pipes, bricks from the brickworks, a candle to represent candle makers as well as a steam engine (the fence next to. the wall itself is made from retired local railway sleepers that nod to the rich railway history of the area).
