Mujer Semilla - Women’s Arts Festival

Description

This Women’s Arts Festival (Mujer Semilla means literally Woman Seed) proposes to bring together women in the village of Aiguá (Maldonado) to celebrate the arts through murals, workshops, talks and music performances, in addition to strengthening ties with the community and generating links between neighbors.

It is a self-managed and community festival since 2021, and its coordinator is the Uruguayan photographer María Noel Rabuñal. It is been organizing every March, around 8M, and nowadays the village has up to 50 murals that talks about Women Rights, Ecology, Nature, Community, Animals and other related themes.

People who want to visit Aiguá and take a tour can communicate directly with the Festival organization via email and coordinate the tour of approximately 1hr 30mins. It is a highly recommended tour for those who want to know more about the artists and traditional anecdotes of Aiguá.
