Black Lives Matter Tribute

Ecuadorian-American graffiti artist Lady Pink says, "It's not just a boy's club." She sees graffiti and murals as acts of rebellion, self-expression and a way to empower women and has been in the game for 40+ years. There's no coincidence that this Black Lives Matter tribute by Lady Pink was completed on June 19th, 2020. Juneteenth marks the end of slavery and we are reminded of how far this country has come, but that there's still a long road ahead for true equality for all. As this was painted, another life was lost, that of Rayshard Brooks. Say Their Names. Black Lives Matter.  This is part of The Welling Court Mural project in Astoria, Queens. It is a must see destination for all street art lovers where you will experience a great collection of public art from a diverse group of local and international artists.
