"The tradition of wearing masks among the peoples of Indonesia goes back to beliefs about the connection with the world of higher powers. By hiding their human essence, people established a connection with the world of spirits and gods, on which their well-being depended. I was inspired by these motives when creating a work, combining wooden masks, elements of flora and fauna of those exotic places and my characters. For me, the concept of "Culture Bearers" has a broader meaning than is commonly thought. A culture carrier is not only one who was born in a certain place and absorbed its customs and way of life from childhood. But the one who fell in love with the country he visited, studied, imbued with the atmosphere and its mood, became a part of it. In the future, such people will broadcast the culture of the country they love to the whole world through traditional cuisine, art and dance".
Art can be seen on the territory of Loft Project "Etazhi" working 9AM-11PM.
