 Située au numéro 5 de la place de Picardie, une jeune fille semble sortir du mur, tenant dans ses mains un joli bateau en papier où apparait la figure du Général San Martin, libérateur de l’Argentine, du Chili et du Pérou, mort à Boulogne-sur-Mer en 1850. Dans le processus créatif de l’artiste, tout a commencé par un long moment de préparatif. « Quand j’en ai le temps, j’aime préparer une maquette en carton miniature » raconte Vera, assis au milieu des pots de peinture et des pinceaux.

L’artiste a passé un excellent moment à Boulogne. « Les « vibes » étaient super. L’équipe du festival est géniale et le public est connaisseur et intéressé. » Idéal pour développer la pulsion créatrice qui s’est concrétisée en œuvre d’art. 
 « Pour réaliser mes fresques, j’aime m’imprégner de l’histoire du lieu où je peints » confie le jeune Mexicain. « Pour la composition, j’ai voulu mêler plusieurs éléments qui font référence à l’histoire de Boulogne-sur-Mer. Ma femme étant argentine, la figure du général San Martin m’a forcément inspiré. Pour les Argentins, Boulogne-sur-Mer est une ville très importante. La statue équestre face à la plage est un beau symbole qui a survécu à la seconde guerre mondiale. Elle est restée intacte malgré les bombardements. »

Dans le monde imaginaire de Vera, « la figure du General est représentée sur un billet de banque argentin devenu un bateau de papier qui rappelle le lien entre Boulogne-sur-Mer et la pêche ». Ce bateau est tenu par une jeune fille de 6 ans. « J’aurais aimé représenter ma fille, mais à 13 mois, elle est trop jeune pour être modèle » sourit l’artiste. « L’image d’une enfant symbolise la liberté que San Martin a offert à son peuple. La République. » 
 Pour terminer sa composition, Vera a souhaité ajouter un macareux moine. Clin d’œil à l’œuvre d’Akut rue du Fort rouge, ce « perroquet de mer » vit de la pêche. Le tout prend place dans un cadre : « La base, c’est la façon dont le mur est construit » continue l’artiste. « La forme de celui-ci est très particulière. J’ai voulu jouer avec ça, transformer cette forme en pièce où la perception du Monde est différente. »

My wife being Argentinian, the figure of General San Martin inevitably inspired me. For Argentinians, Boulogne-sur-Mer is a very important city. The equestrian statue facing the beach is a beautiful symbol that survived the Second World War. It remained intact despite the bombings. »
In Vera's imaginary world, "the figure of the General is represented on an Argentine bank note which has become a paper boat which recalls the link between Boulogne-sur-Mer and fishing". This boat is run by a 6 year old girl. “I would have liked to represent my daughter, but at 13 months, she is too young to be a model,” smiles the artist. “The image of a child symbolizes the freedom that San Martin offered to his people. The Republic. »
  To finish his composition, Vera wanted to add an Atlantic puffin. A nod to the work of Akut on rue du Fort rouge, this “sea parrot” makes a living from fishing. Everything takes place in a frame: “The basis is the way the wall is constructed” continues the artist. “The shape of it is very particular. I wanted to play with that, transform this form into a piece where the perception of the World is different. »
