Wren, King of the Birds

Part of the Belfast Canvas Project

Friz says...
'I remember being told the story when I was young, where all the birds gathered and decided to declare a king.
The bird who could fly the highest would be crowned. When the wren stepped up to compete the eagle laughed at him.
The little wren snuck on to the eagle's back, and once all the other birds had given up, and the eagle had flown as high as he possibly could, the wren hopped off his back and took wing and flew higher again.
Thus he was crowned king.'
