An anonymous painting of the 1968 Olympics Black Power Salute of Tommie Smith and John Carlos, an iconic image of the black struggle for equality. The artwork was painted six weeks before the Sydney Olympics. The artwork was restored by Kelly Wallwork with a fresh coat of paint in August 2019.
The mural is a tribute to one of the most controversial moments in Olympic history. It has a landmark value as a reminder of the 1960s Black Power Salute movement.
