Poet, but also playwright, prose writer, translator. Considered the leading author of linguistic poetry and the last great Polish modernist. He was born in 1921 near Vilnius. He studied and lived in Wrocław. He died near Chicago in 2005. He was buried with his wife at the Osobowicki Cemetery.
