Marek Krajewski is one of the most respected Polish authors of detective stories. His work is sometimes compared to Sir Conan Doyle's novel cycle.
One of his most famous crime series, with the main character: policeman Eberhard Mock, he set in pre-war Wroclaw. In Krajewski's novels, not only the horror and cruelty of the crimes perpetrated, but also the enormous influence of the social, political situation and the atmosphere of pre-war Polish cities. His characters are extremely complicated characters and, like Ebrehard Mock, far from ideal. His novels are filled with brilliant logic, which at the same time gives a huge field for imagination.
