In an interview, the artist tells the newspaper: This work is a statement. The facade of this building got darker and dirty due to polution. The contrast with Greta's long braids and the strong look in her eyes couldn't be bigger. 

The artist is proud of the activists in Belgium. 'The way they are organised is amazing, there isn't any violence etc. in their protest. At their age I was only concerned about my girlfriend. I am proud and ashamed, I'm a father and a grandfather, my kids and grandkids need a planet to live on too, and if I can do anything to help, I will.'

The owner of the building asked his friend to paint this piece, in collaboration with the city of Brussels.
