The Goat

Mural painted at the 31330 festival in Villafranca.

At the center, the goat: fragmented, in motion, suspended.
It moves between symbolic expression and animality.
It doesn’t just reflect nature,
but our relationship with painting.
Desired. Rejected. Blessed.

A gaze turned inward.
It’s not the goat being shown,
but how we choose to see it.

What do we see when we look at the animal?
Where do we draw the boundaries:
between reason and instinct, beauty and ugliness,
what’s allowed and what’s true?
