The city of Loan in Northern France has wrapped up its first street art festival, Festival d’art Urbain de Laon, in 2022. Organised by Ville de Laon and curated by Christian Guemy (aka artist C215), the city invited sixteen international street artists to paint fourteen monumental murals in the Champagne and Montreuil districts of the medieval town. Among the artists invited was Isaac Cordal.
Isaac Cordal added new neighbours to the city of Laon.
Based in Bilbao, sculptor and visual artist Isaac Cordal uses humour and irony to question our society. His iconic project, Cement Éclipses, takes the form of miniature human figures scattered throughout urban spaces, creating scenes that are both poetic and critical. Whether ephemeral or permanent, his works have taken over the streets of Berlin, London, New York, Amsterdam and many other cities, offering passers-by unexpected moments of reflection.
