O lapis do graffiteiro

The mural of Sokram, O lapis do graffiteiro, is located on one of the sides of the "Pazo da Cultura" building. This mural was conceived in the painter's imagination as a metaphor around the world of artistic creation. It is a reflection on the artistic movement of urban art, which can be transferred to other areas of life. It aims to refer to the current trend in this artistic field, in which some creators try to make works bigger and bigger, forgetting the content of them. It is a metaphor of the race for the conquest of the highest peak.
According to Sokram, the visual metaphor aims to allude to this topic, but the viewer's reading can expand to many other areas since we live in a world full of competition, obsession with size and aesthetics. The final meaning is open to the interpretation of each person.
Sokram, like Mou, is one of the organizers of the urban art festival "Desordes Creativos" in the neighboring town of Ordes and coordinators of the "RexeneraFest" of Carballo.
This artwork is part of Derrubando muros con pintura 2014.
