This large-scale mural features the Worcester Park town centre name styled after traditional vintage railway signage. Painted on a brick wall under the railway bridge, the bold typography is set against a vibrant green background. The green color honors the local parklands surrounding The Hamptons and the town’s historical ties with the Great Park.
The most significant element of the artwork is the inclusion of 24 painted brown butterflies scattered around the sign. Commissioned as a community project, each individual butterfly represents one of the 24 families who lost their homes in the tragic Richmond House residential fire in Worcester Park in September 2019. The butterflies serve as a poignant memorial for the community while symbolizing transformation, hope, and new life.
