The Northam Silos have the honour of being the first silos ever to be painted in Australia and they were painted by two artists. Phlegm’s inspiration for his artwork comes from Northam’s rich history in aviation. Northam is renowned for its ballooning and gliding activities. Hense chose an abstract kaleidoscope of rich vibrant colours for his silos.
The silos were fully operational at the time and both men worked off cherry pickers with over 400 hours of painting time in total. They were completed in March 2015. This artwork was produced by Phlegm and Hence as part of FORM’s PUBLIC Silo Trail in Western Australia.
