The Merredin Silos were the third silos to be completed in the Public Silo Trail of Western Australia and the 12th silos to be completed in the Australian Silo Art Trail.
Western Australian artist Kyle Hughes-Odgers’s work on the Merredin silos commenced in 2017 and celebrates the story of Merredin in its natural environment. It portrays the community in the form of abstract figures, the land and its agricultural history.
The four silos took 200 litres of paint, 80 rollers, 10 brushes and 168 hours to create. He also used a 38 metre boom with a basket attached to the end in which he would stand in to be able to paint the silos. They were completed in September 2017. This artwork was produced by Kyle Hughes-Odgers as part of FORM’s PUBLIC Silo Trail in Western Australia.
