The mural was painted by Bulgarian artist Bozko who was invited to the Quais quarter, on the occasion of the 2018 Balkan Trafik Festival, in collaboration with the City of Brussels. Balkan Trafik is the popular cultural event in Brussels, mixing music, art, gastronomy and cultural diplomacy and helping both Brussels and Balkans to connect and better understand each other.
The last, 12th edition focused on street art during an ‘Urban Chapter’ in collaboration with Lezarts Urbains. This is why City of Brussels proposed inviting an artist from the Balkans to create a mural on a facade of the city as part of the Brussels Street Art Trail. The Bulgarian artist Bozko was chosen – he is known for enormous works of art usually filled with imagined, strange but cute characters.
