This work is the endpiece of an art project by André Smits in his home town. The name of the art project is 'Artist in the world'. He started taking photographs of local artists in their workplace, with their back towards the camera. To close the project he made this mural that shows the name of all the artists from Rotterdam he has portraited. At first there were 636 names on the wall, later the mural was extended with even more names.

The name of the mural comes from the barbershop Montie, where Smits used to go for his haircuts. Until 2021 this barbershop was located in the building next to the wall.
